Lingering Looks & Lingering Courses: Why I Adore Extended Dates

There’s something utterly delicious about a date that isn’t rushed. A slow burn. A tease. The way time stretches luxuriously when there’s no pressure to get to the point. And nothing sets the tone better than a 3–4 hour date wrapped around a decadent meal at one of San Francisco’s exquisite Michelin-starred restaurants—or a tucked-away gem inside one of the city’s iconic luxury hotels.

I’ve found that a 3–4 hour date is the perfect minimum for a first meeting. It gives us the space to actually feel each other out—emotionally, energetically, maybe even a little flirtatiously—without watching the clock. Because let’s be honest: great chemistry doesn’t happen on a timer.

There’s something so thrilling about a gentleman who understands that seduction begins long before the first kiss. It starts across the dinner table—with lingering looks, clever conversation, and that slow, delicious anticipation that builds between courses. When we take our time, we create a rhythm… a mood… a spark.

But if I’m being completely honest? My absolute favorite dates are the overnight kind.

There’s nothing quite like slipping into something comfortable (or nothing at all), curling up under the covers after an evening of indulgence, and waking up to soft morning light, tangled sheets, and a second round of whispered delights over room service coffee. It’s intimacy without urgency. It’s connection without interruption. It’s the luxury of truly being present—with you.

So whether we’re sharing a decadent tasting menu in a candlelit corner of the city, or falling asleep to the sound of your heartbeat next to mine… I’m already looking forward to our time together.

Let’s dine. Let’s flirt. Let’s linger.
